Lippincott Library Document Delivery Services

Wharton faculty and PhD candidates have access to the Document Delivery Services provided by the Lippincott Library. This service is comprised of two parts, Table of Contents Alert Service and Documents on Demand.

1. The Table of Contents Service is available from TDNet. An individual account is set up. You then select the journals of interest to you. (The service includes over 7000 publications.) Whenever a new TOC is issued for a title in your selected list, you will be sent an email notification. It is also possible to set up alerts based on keyword terms rather than journal title. You then receive notification if an new article from any journal appears containing your search terms.

Usually, it is possible to link directly to the full text of the articles. In some cases, there may be an embargo imposed by the publisher or no e-journal format available. For any articles, available on the web or not, you have the option of sending your requests through the TDNet Document Delivery function to the library. We will print them out for you and deliver them to your departmental mailbox.

To sign up for this service, go to http://www.tdnet.com/wharton.  Click on the “My TDNet” button. Click on “set up a new account”. Fill in the appropriate information (name, department, email, etc.) Create a User name and Password. Be sure to select the option to receive alerts by journal title or keyword so that you can use both functions.

In order to redirect your requests to the Lippincott Document Delivery Service, please sign up for the “Document Delivery” service as well. You can use the same log-in and password. Do not select a delivery format preference. Any articles redirected to the library will be printed in hard copy and delivered to your departmental mailbox. We try to deliver articles in a timely fashion.

2. We also provide an On-Demand Service. You may request any book or article and we will get it and deliver it to your departmental mailbox. This is not related to the TDNet function. You may request books, papers, or articles from publications available at any of the Penn Libraries or only available through other institutions. We will try to obtain these requests in the library, through a commercial vendor or through Interlibrary Loan. Send any requests to docdel@wharton.upenn.edu Be sure to include your name, email, department, and phone number.
